Tom Gorman's 2001 M5

My 2001 M-5 is 3 years old this week.  It is totally stock with 20,000 miles on it.   Other than the repair of a noisy VANOS, it has been virtually trouble free.  I drive it pretty easy but it has seen 140 mph, once.  (My wife did not enjoy the experience near as much as I did.)  It is similar in straight line performance to its predecessor, a 6 spd. '99 Corvette.

Our best road trip was last summer through Montana and Idaho over Lolo Pass on Hwy 12.  That's the route with the "Winding Road Next 77 Miles" sign.  One of the neatest things about buying the car new was the M-5 Driving Experience in Spartanburg.  (I shared course time with my wife and she did enjoy that.)

Despite the fact that I think it is one of the coolest looking cars around, my Indi Blue 2003 MINI Cooper S gets 10 times the unsolicited comments
